SARDINIAN MYTH AT SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA

August ends with a flourish at the northern tip of Sardinia with the Music at the Bocche di Bonifacio festival, now in its 10 th edition.  The five-day international jazz- and-other-music festival pervades the Cape Testa promontory and the town of Santa Teresa Galluro, which face onto the Bocche di Bonifacio channel that separates Sardinia from Corsica.

This years version, entitled Sardinian Myth,  offers dawn-to-dusk entertainment from the Brasilian percussion group Timbales and a virtually non-stop programme of recitals and concerts in churches, squares, the port and on the ferry boats, as well as traditional Sardinian songs, book presentations and discussions.

The Festival closes on Monday, 30 August in poetic mode with a dawn recital on the Rena Bianca beach by Brazilian pianist and guitarist Egberto Gismonti.
