Twelve well-known artists and illustrators will follow the footsteps of their predecessors in the Grand Tour of the '700 and '800, visiting the castles of the ancient Duchy of Parma and Piacenza on September 20th-21st
The Unban Sketchers include some of Italy's top graphic designers and comic illustrators. They will tour some of the 23 castles of the area, making drawings of their impressions. The journey ends at Rocca Sanvitale di Fontanellato on Sunday evening with a collective en plein air session.
The event is open to the public who can have the unique opportunity to meet the artists and watch them at work.
The initiative was conceived by Professor Angelo Varni, President of IBC (the Institute of Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage of Emilia-Romagna and is curated by Marco Zanichelli and Giuseppe Palumbo in collaboration with the staff of the Castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza.
