You don't necessarily have to go miles out into the country to take part in the grape harvest in Italy. Some towns have flourishing vineyards right on their doorsteps. The vineyard Villa della Regina rises on an ex summer palace of the Savoy family overlooking the city of Turin.
The cellar produces a highly esteemed Freisa di Chieri Doc, Turin's only DOC wine, with a production of 4000 numbered bottles that are much sought after by collectors. Venice also produces its own wine on the lagoon Island of Mazzorbo, where the Bisol cellar has revived the ancient grape vine Dorona, from which it derives 4000 bottles of white Venissa wine. Lastly, the town of Brescia can boast the biggest urban vineyard in the world, with 4 hectares stretching along the base of the Cidneo hills.
