A treat for opera buffs: Giuseppe Verdi's classic opera "Rigoletto" has its own special show at Modena between the 30 November and the 2 December 2018.
The exhibition "Il Rigoletto di Giuseppe Verdi. Simbolo dell'Opera Italiano" will be part of the coming edition of the important antique and collectors' fair "7.8.Novecento" at ModenaFiere. Verdi considered "Rigoletto" his best opera when it debuted at La Fenice theatre, Venice, in 1851.
Some 200 exhibits, including Verdi's original score, costumes, historic theatre programmes and posters, newspaper cuttings and a selection of signed photographs of the greatest opera singers who have performed in "Rigoletto", over the past hundred and fifty plus years, such as Enrico Caruso (1910), Beniamino Gigli, Mario Lanza, Placido Domingo, Maria Callas, Renata Scotti and Luciano Pavarotti.
