The Province of Carbonia Iglesias in south-west Sardinia has launched the new edition of its Si Card Pass, giving discounts and other incentives to visitors to the area. The card is issued free and can be requested online from the local tourist authorities, along with an information booklet on 28 attractions, including the Italian Centre for the History of Coal at the Great Serbariu Mine and the Villa Sulcis Museum at Carbonia, the fascinating archaeological site of Sant Antioco with the Hypogeum Village, the Tophet and the Archaeological Museum, the Caves of Is Zuddas at Santadi and Su Mannau at Fluminimaggiore, as well as the Carignano del Sulcis Wine Trail, the local DOC wine made from the Carignano grape, celebrated for its resistance to parasites and to the salt-laden winds that come from the sea.
Special three-day tours of the province with B&B accommodation are also available at attractive rates.
