The MSC Sinfonia, the newly refurbished cruise ship of the MSC navigation company took its maiden bow in Naples on the 25th March 2015. The ship, one of the four Lirica Class liners of the fleet, has been extended and re-styled to contain an additional 200 cabins, more spacious communal areas, greater restaurant choice and a new club aimed at the younger passengers with an acquatic park and games. The company has invested 50 million in its Programma Rinascimento renovation plan involving part of its fleet, with work carried out by the Italian Fincantiere dockyards at Palermo.
This year, the Adriatic port of Brindisi (Puglia) will be added to many of the itineraries. The company anticipates to carry 3.2 million passengers within the next seven years, half of which involving ports in southern Italy.
