Italy's long festive season draws to a close with the Feast of Epiphany on the 6th January 2016 and the arrival of the friendly old witch Befana who brings the last lot of presents to the children all over the country.
The entrerprising mountain community of Abbadia San Salvatore, near Siena (Tuscany), famed for its giant Christmas bonfire, has continued to draw visitors throughout the holidays with its exhibition Follow the Star, consisting of an itinerary through the narrow alleys and squares to seek out forty different Christmas Nativity scenes, seven of which dedicated specially to the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
Visitors are encouraged to keep their smartphones at the ready so that they can participate in the Instagram challenge, open to all. All tne pics received will appear in a virtual exhibition and those who receive the most likes will be used to promote the town's website:
