A treat awaits garden lovers on the 29 May 2011 when over 50 of the most beautiful private gardens of Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca will throw open their gates to the public. The event is part of the annual spring festival, Toscana Esclusiva, organized by the regional department of the Association of Historic Italian Gardens (ADSI) which aims to highlight Italian heritage sites that are normally not accessible for visits.
The programme includes 31 Florentine gardens, 4 on the hills between Castelfiorentino and Montespertoli, 6 in the historic centre of Lucca, 3 in the Pisa area and 7 in and around Siena. The event will be accompanied by musical recitals, flower shows and book and print fairs, a Toscana Esclusiva menu and even a celebration of the 50 th Anniversary of the Florentine football teams epic victory against Glasgow Rangers in the UEFA cup.
