International Swiss artist John Armleder has designed eight original installations to decorate the windows of La Rinascente, Milan's most famous department store, based on the theme: Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, it's Xmas again.

La Rinascente's sombre front with its pillared arcade becomes an open air exhibition with the window displays of shifting lights and colours that play against the backgrop and reflect on piles of bubble-balls to create a lighthearted effect.

During the festive season, the public will be guided by a team of young curators and artists from the Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera, who will explain the symbolism behind Armleder's inspiration.
