The XXII edition of the increasingly important Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo Archeologico (Mediterranean Archaeological Tourism Exchange) is scheduled to be held at Paestum between the 14-17 November 2019, with over 100 espositori and 25 countries booked up to attend. The Borsa's Annual International Discovery Award, dedicated to Khaled al-Asaad, the Director of the museum and archaeological site of Palmyra who was tragically killed by terrorists, will be awarded on the 15th November to the world's most ancient intact sunken ship. This was discovered in the Black Sea at a depth of 2 kms by the Black Sea Maritime Archaeological Project (MAP). The wrecked vessel, which is 23 m in length, is a Greek ship 2,300 years old. The award will be presented by Jonathan Adams of MAP to Khaled al-Asaad's daughter Fayroux. The Special Award instead goes to the world's oldest bread – a carbonized fragment of unleavned bread dating back 14,000 years, discovered in the Jordanian Black Desert by a united university project with teams from Copenhagen, Cambridge and University College, London.
